Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated GP to join our friendly, partner-led team at Mill Road Surgery. We are seeking a part time salaried GP (4 sessions per week). This role offers a clear and supported pathway to partnership within a well-led and high-performing environment.
Our current working pattern includes Monday morning, Tuesday (all day) & Thursday morning; we can offer flexibility for the right candidate.
We are keen to recruit an individual who is enthusiastic about working within a small, collaborative practice and is interested in developing a long-term career with us.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to become fully involved in practice life, contributing to high-quality patient care, teamwork, and the ongoing development of services. Over time, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and leadership roles. As a key member of the team, you will manage a varied caseload, addressing a wide range of patient needs within a primary care setting, while maintaining high standards of care for our diverse population. You will work closely with a MDT comprising GP partners, salaried GP, nursing, allied health professionals, trainees & non-clinical colleagues to provide a high-quality, accessible service to all our registered patients.
Main duties of the job
You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of general practice services, including face-to-face and remote consultations, home visits, and the management of both acute and long-term conditions. The role involves working autonomously to assess and manage undifferentiated presentations, making clinical decisions, and coordinating care with the wider multidisciplinary team.
You will contribute to the safe and effective running of the practice through clinical administration, prescribing, and referral management, while maintaining accurate records. The post-holder will also support quality improvement, audit, and teaching activities, alongside ongoing professional development and participation in practice and PCN initiatives

As a key member of the team, the Salaried GP will manage a varied caseload, addressing a wide range of presenting healthcare needs in a primary care setting, while maintaining high standards of care for our diverse patient population.
The postholder will work closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising of three GP partners, one salaried GP, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, trainees and non-clinical colleagues to provide a high-quality, accessible service to all registered patients.

Nursing team (Practice Nurses, Nurse Associate, HCA)
GP Assistant
Experienced and approachable admin team
PCN team: Pharmacists, ANPs, and Physician Associates
Trainee ANP

Qualified General Practitioner Currently on a PCT performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register Holder of the Royal College of General Practitioners Experience of working in general practice in the UK Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF) Evidence of independent working in General Practice Understanding of the health and social needs of a local practice patient population Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent record keeping skills High level of IT skills including the use of clinical systems (Systm1 and Total Triage) Excellent time management Commitment to personal and professional development Well organised with good time management skills Prepared to share success and challenges as well as to practice in an open way with both colleagues and patients.
