Position Overview The Building Envelope Technician supports the inspection, testing, and documentation of building envelope systems to verify performance, quality, and code compliance. This hands-on role involves assisting in the field with visual inspections, diagnostic testing, data collection, and installation verification across roofing, waterproofing, cladding, fenestrations, and insulation systems. Responsibilities Assist in the inspection and testing of roofing, air barriers, waterproofing, curtain walls, windows, and exterior wall assemblies Support field testing tasks such as adhesion pull tests, water intrusion testing, or air leakage testing (e.g., blower door tests) Document field observations, material conditions, deficiencies, and photographic evidence under the guidance of senior staff Help verify that envelope system installations follow design specifications and manufacturer instructions Assist with setup and operation of testing equipment and ensure tools are maintained and calibrated Support sample collection and preparation of field logs, inspection forms, and daily reports Communicate site conditions and observations with inspectors, contractors, and engineers Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements on job sites Participate in training sessions and field demonstrations to expand technical skillset
