Job summary
We are looking for a reliable, methodical and organised individual with good practical skills to work in the Special Feed Unit. The job will involve supporting the dietetic and paediatric services so that they can provide quality services to both patients and other staff groups.

Main duties of the job
You will be involved the special feed production unit, where you will be responsible for the preparation, manufacture and distribution of specialist baby feeds to the paediatric and neonate services . You will also provide a key role in the liaison between dieticians and the wards.

Job description Job responsibilities
To prepare and label special feeds and supplements for infants and children withspecial dietary requirements in a timely and accurate manner To be responsible for stock control and stock rotation within the unit To ensure that high standards of hygiene in the unit are maintained at all times to prevent contamination of feeds To bulk deliver prepared feeds to the wards in a timely manner to ensure feeds are out of refrigeration for a minimum time. To ensure all documented records are updated daily and are accurately maintained This is a 365 day service, as such, the role will include some weekends and Bank Holiday working that will involve working single handed on those shifts
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education Essential
NVQ Level 2 in appropriate subject or equivalent qualification / experience Basic Food Hygiene certificate
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety
Desirable
Experience of previously working in a health care setting
Skills & Abilities Essential
Good literacy and numeracy skills Basic IT skills Good communication skills Good organisational skills Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of practical application of food safety in relation to a nutrition setting or service
