POSITION DETAILS The Defense Account Manager develops and manages sales activities with prospective and existing direct customer accounts within the naval defense market. Responsible for sale of pumps, valves and associated equipment including electric motors and actuators. Develops long-term relationships with key customer accounts. Acts as “voice of the customer” to the organization. Principal Activities Primary Point of Contact for customer representatives such as buyers, engineers, and other professional and technical personnel at shipyards, OEM’s, and other businesses, to influence prospective clients of the value and performance of products or services offered. Reviews RFQ’s, specifications, drawings, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare proposals and quotations. Coordinates project management functions for major contracts including contract review and dissemination of flow down requirements, tracking of progress and document submittals. Investigates and resolves customer problems such as deliveries. Provide customer reporting as needed in a timely and organized manner. Work closely with other departments including; operations, quality, supply chain and engineering to assist in resolving issues affecting customers Coordinate and process milestone payments. Organize and manage customer program reviews Represent company at industry meetings and trade shows. Assist finance with rates, compliance and in resolving collection issues.
