In this position, you will be working in the Colorado Springs Support Services department on fire apparatus, heavy equipment, light duty trucks, and a variety of passenger vehicles to support the Fire Department operations. The Fire Department's fleet includes powertrains by Cummins, Ford, and others to a lesser extent. You will be required to perform inspections, run diagnostics, order parts, and perform repairs. This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year. As a Fleet Technician II, you will: Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and vehicles Inspect, diagnose, and isolate defective, missing, or malfunctioning components of mechanical, hydraulic, fueling, electrical, and pneumatic systems Identify, record, and source parts Coordinate service writing and parts acquisition with supervisor Use software to initiate, record and track fleet work Other duties as assigned.
