Location: Oak Ridge, TN Job Title: Field Training Specialist (OJT Trainer) Career Level: Specialist Job Specialty: Weapons Training What You'll Do • Develops and presents training materials and lesson plans on varied technical subjects to hourly, weekly and monthly audiences. • Implements the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. • Assists organization managers and supervisors in the tracking and scheduling of training requirements for facility personnel. • Assists in the development of Continuing Training modules (Adaptive, Flexible, or Fixed) based on the needs or recommendations of the Production organization. • Provides expertise in learning transfer, determining when new learning methods and theories should be tested and implemented. • Implements DOE Orders, laws, regulations, and company procedures as outlined within the Y-12 training documents, and recommends training options which will yield the most value to the customer, considering current in-house training available, alternatives to traditional classroom training, modification or development of new course materials, or contracting training/material/lesson plans from outside vendors. • Maintains floor presence for assessing and monitoring training needs to ensure work is performed to Conduct of Operations standards and expectations. • Ensures employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge, experience, and skills, before recommending personnel for qualification/certification. • Maintains appropriate training records and documents all employee training activities and evaluates performance. • Reduces amount of idle time for Production personnel from date-of-hire to performing hands-on work by planning, scheduling, and coordinating required training. • Assist training and/or line management in the resolution of corrective actions involving training. • Provide support for Readiness activities involving restart/start-up activities for Training and Qualification requirements. • Support field operational drills, per PLN 02-F-0004. • Support training documentation with the Division Training Officers using the Learning Management System, LMS.
