Job summary Are you an experienced and inspirational leader in maternity services, ready to shape the future of care for women, babies and families? Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic Outpatient Matron to join our forward-thinking maternity team.

As the Outpatient Matron, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio of services across both maternity sites, including:

Antenatal outpatient clinics Antenatal Day units Fetal Assessment Unit Diabetic Midwifery Team You will be accountable for the coordination, safety, and quality of these services, ensuring exceptional care standards and positive patient experiences.

The role will participate on Maternity out of hours on-call.

Main duties of the job The jobholder will have overall responsibility for the management of nursing/associated staff and the management of nursing resources/budgets with the Clinical Service Unit or a part of it. The jobholder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the wards and departments for which they are responsible and ensure the principles of clinical governance are implemented at a local level. The jobholder will work in partnership with the facilities department in ensuring high standards of hospital cleanliness is maintained, embracing the principles outlined in the Matrons charter.

The jobholder will be easily identifiable to patients, provide strong leadership through a visible presence and provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. The jobholder will also support the implementation of a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), being a focal point for advice to patients and carers and local resolution of complaints.
