About this role

The SEO Analyst is responsible for conducting supervision of regulatees under the Currency Act 2020, oversight of JMW’s outsourced agents (e.g. Coin Agent), as well as undertake enforcement actions for breaches and non-compliances with the laws and regulations based on the department’s enforcement, supervisory and administrative action frameworks, to ensure preservation of the quality and integrity of currency circulation and currency processing industry.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Supervisory Analysis

• Assess the risk profiles of institutions by conducting knowledge of business (KoB) analysis and preliminary risk assessment to develop an understanding of the institution's activities, operations and impact to the industry. 2. Monitoring via Off-Site and On-Site Supervision

• Analyze and assess the risk profile, effectiveness of governance, risk management and control functions of RCPs, via on-site and offsite supervision to ensure early detection of supervisory concerns and emerging risks. 3. Supervisory Assessment

• Conduct supervisory assessment of the risks and operations of Registered Currency Processors (RCPs), in accordance with the department’s approved supervisory framework and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Communicate and escalate supervisory concerns with the appropriate recommendations on supervisory intervention/resolution measures to be imposed on RCPs. 4. Enforcement

• Take enforcement action against RCPs or Financial Institutions (Fis) that are found to be in breach of applicable laws and regulations. 5. Monitor and Review Regulatory Reporting and Data Submissions

• Identify any noncompliance and vulnerabilities, followed by ensuring remedial actions are in place to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and supervisory expectations issued by the Bank. 6. Market Surveillance and Analysis

• Conduct robust and holistic macro surveillance on the currency processing landscape to identify, assess and propose appropriate risk mitigation controls for issues faced by the RCPs and/or FIs. 7. Effective Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory/standard-setting bodies, other countries’ regulators) to exchange views, provide inputs, identify new risks, developments, and best practices to facilitate or enhance supervisory/processing function of the department. 8. Others

• Undertake any administrative functions and other ad hoc tasks assigned by Supervisor from time to time.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Banking, Finance, Business Studies or Commerce or any relevant professional qualifications. Experience: Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications. Working experience in the regulation and supervision sector, enforcement, risk management or auditing is an added advantage.
