About this role
Job summary
Lets face it - most job adverts make big promises. We'd rather invite you in for a coffee and let you decide for yourself.
Wem and Prees Medical Practice are looking for a 4 to 6 session Salaried GP to join our experienced, friendly and forward-thinking team across our two North Shropshire sites, starting October 2026.
We're a high-achieving, innovative practice caring for just over 12,000 patients - large enough to be dynamic, small enough to feel personal.
What really sets us apart is how we work. We've created an environment where clinicians are supported, ideas are welcomed and coffee after morning surgery is part of the rhythm of the day.
With a strong multidisciplinary team, modern premises and a fully embedded Total Triage model, we aim to make general practice both sustainable and enjoyable.
Don't take our word for it - come and see us. We'll happily show you around, make you a coffee, and tell you about the important things like free parking, birthday leave, and why people tend to stay.
If you'd like to know more - or better still, come for that coffee - please contact our Managing Partner, Caroline Morris on 01939 238051 or [email protected]
Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP with us, you'll be part of a well-supported, modern general practice delivering high-quality care to our patient population. Your role will include a balanced mix of clinical sessions across face-to-face, telephone and online consultations within our Total Triage model.
You'll work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team, allowing you to focus your time where it matters most, with the right support around you. There will also be opportunities to contribute to teaching, mentoring and the ongoing development of the practice if that's something you enjoy.
We aim to provide a role that feels sustainable, organised and professionally rewarding, with a team around you that shares the workload and looks out for each other.
About us
We are a friendly, high-achieving and innovative practice based across two sites: our main surgery in Wem and a dispensing branch in Prees - both with free parking (a small detail that makes a big difference).
Our team includes 7 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and a strong multidisciplinary team including Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Cancer Care Coordination and Social Prescribing. We're also a well-established training practice and a proud military veteran practice.
We combine high QOF achievement and a good CQC rating with something just as important - a supportive culture. There's time for a quick coffee after morning surgery, a conversation when you need it, and a shared sense that general practice can still be a great place to work.
We've been a Modern GP Practice since 2024 and continue to evolve but we've held onto what matters: being approachable, supportive and a team youll actually enjoy being part of.
