Job summary
We are looking to employ a full-time qualified Health Care Assistant to work within our busy GP surgery. The successful candidate will work well as part of a team or using own initiative. Pay will be dependant upon experience and can be discussed during the interview. Hours will be between 8am - 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
New patient health checks ECG recording BP monitoring Urinalysis Phlebotomy Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed. Ensure clinical waste collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Practice Nurse. Ensure sharps bins are ready for collection. Restocking/maintenance of equipment. Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms. Chaperoning duties Assisting the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals within the practice. Home visiting housebound patients for reviews and blood tests. Health Promotion Long term condition management Annual health checks

Person Specification
Experience Essential
12 months experience as a HCA within a primary care environment Good knowledge and understanding of QOF
