An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Waiting List Co-ordinator at 37.5 hours per week working in the Endoscopy waiting list team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and excellent team player with an interest in Waiting List Management to join our well established team of staff.
The individual needs to flexible and motivated, with good communication skills as they will be dealing with the general public. It's essential the applicant has good keyboard skills and previous waiting list experience would be desirable.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the endoscopy waiting list team, administering waiting lists in line with Trust policies and procedures. To ensure that elective admissions are processed effectively and that National and local access targets are met. To undertake systematic, regular validation of the admission lists.
To ensure all endoscopy sessions are booked to capacity working closely with the wider Endoscopy team.
In line with booking policies and procedures, agree admission dates with patient and send out letters and information to patients with regard to their admission to hospital.
Inform Endoscopy staff when special equipment, needs to be ordered to ensure it is available at the time of the procedure.
Deal with enquiries from patients and G.P.s about waiting times and admissions. This includes dealing with patients, or the relatives of patients, with suspected or confirmed cancer and with people from differing backgrounds.
Maintain specified waiting lists in accordance with Trust waiting list policies.
Add patients to the waiting lists within in a timely manner, ensuring that patient details are correct and complete.
Arrange admissions in accordance with clinical priority (including cancer fast track) and by the breach date. Extensive periods of concentration are required for data input, analysis of waiting lists and rotas in order to organise theatre schedules.
Use knowledge of case-mix and equipment requirements when scheduling patients into Endoscopy sessions.
