We are delighted to offer an exciting development opportunity for a Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our dynamic and compassionate multi-disciplinary team within BCUHB's Tier 4 Highly Specialist CAMHS Service. You will work across both the Kestrel Inpatient Ward and Kite - Intensive Community Support Team.
This post is offered as a Band 7-8a progression role, providing the opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced practitioner to develop into a highly Specialist (Band 8a) Family & Systemic Psychotherapist role, supported by structured supervision, competency development, and service leadership opportunities.
Support is available from experienced professionals including the Consultant Nurse/Family & Systemic Psychotherapist and Consultant Family & Systemic Psychotherapist, alongside a thriving North Wales Family & Systemic Community of Practice.
Please note there is no requirement for registration under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) for this post.
Main duties of the job
About the Development Pathway
At Band 7, you will:
Deliver systemic interventions under supervision
Build experience within inpatient and intensive community settings
Work towards defined competencies required for progression
Progression to Band 8a will be supported through:
Demonstration of advanced clinical skills and autonomy
Leadership and supervisory capability
Contribution to service development and systemic practice across CAMHS
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals at different stages of their development:
For Band 7 entry:
Qualified (or nearing qualification) in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy
Experience working with children, young people, or families
Commitment to developing specialist skills within a Tier 4 setting
For Band 8a entry (or progression):
Qualified Family & Systemic Psychotherapist with relevant registration
Experience working with complex presentations in intensive settings
Ability to provide supervision, consultation, and leadership
We are looking for someone who is:

Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential
Relevant degree A recognised post graduate Family Therapy or equivalent qualification at level of Masters or higher academic award UKCP registration as a family/systemic Psychotherapist Highly developed knowledge of systemic theory and practice. Knowledge of research design and methodology as practised within the field of family therapy Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to this client group i.e. children Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the UKCP/AFT

Additional relevant academic and/or accredited therapeutic qualification A professional qualification in a relevant regulated profession eligible under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 e.g. Nursing, Social Work
