Hours Up to 30hrs per week this is negotiable if less hours are required
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Band 5 Community Children's Nurse to join our supportive Community Children's Nursing Team on a fixed-term maternity leave cover contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Registered Children's Nurse to gain valuable experience within community paediatrics. We warmly welcome applications from newly qualified nurses and will provide a comprehensive induction, structured preceptorship, and ongoing support to help you develop confidently within the role.
Working within the community, you will deliver high-quality, child and family-centred care to children and young people with a range of acute, chronic, and complex health needs across home, school, and clinic settings.
Main duties of the role
Deliver evidence-based nursing care to children and young people within the communitySupport children with complex and additional healthcare needs Provide education and support to families and carers to promote independence and wellbeingWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, schools, social care, and partner agenciesParticipate in assessment, care planning, safeguarding, and clinical reviewsMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NMC standardsContribute positively to service development and team learningProvide nursing cover one day a week at a Special Educational Needs school alongside experienced colleagues
