We're looking for a Registered Nursing Associate who have a passion for working with people with a learning disability to improve their health.

North Oxfordshire Learning Disability team, based in Banbury works with adults with learning disabilities, their families and carers across North and West Oxfordshire supporting people to live healthier lives.
The North Oxfordshire Learning Disability Service is a specialist service within the NHS in Oxfordshire supporting individuals with a diagnosis of a learning disability with their identified health needs which cannot be met by mainstream services with reasonable adjustments.
We are a multidisciplinary team including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, speech and language therapists and psychiatrists.
We believe in a person-centred approach, helping our service users to advocate for their health needs in a safe and professional environment. It is the duty of care for all healthcare professionals in the Learning Disability Service to advocate and empower individuals with a learning disability to make choices for themselves (where possible) and to be a part of their community.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nursing Associate Learning Disabilities you will support the learning disability nurses in completing specific pieces of work for people with learning disabilities, including assessments, care plans, developing easy read information about health conditions and procedures and delivering health education sessions to individuals or groups around a variety of health topics, such as healthy eating.
You must have good communication skills with the ability to communicate to others, including people with a learning disability, carers and healthcare providers; be reliable, punctual and work well in a team, whilst being adaptable to changing situations; IT skills including using email and Word. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy environment and able to prioritise workload.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

Job description Job responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse Associate Learning Disabilities your main responsibilities will include:
Hold a caseload of patients and to be supervised by a registered Nurse Record own work on electronic patient records e.g. Rio. Contribute to Nursing assessments e.g. Team Assessments, Nursing Assessments, etc. (including writing and sharing nursing formulations and nursing recommendations with relevant people Monitoring and feeding back on the physical and mental well-being of service users, including escalation of care needs when necessary Deliver health promotion interventions including group sessions Signposting to and working in collaboration with appropriate health services and community-based support. Liaising with other professionals outside the immediate MDT including GPs, hospital departments doctors and nurses, social care etc.
The team work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The team have an office base in Banbury but we also work flexibly from home and from other Trust premises to meet the needs of our patients.

Previous experience working with people with learning disabilities as part of nursing associate training or in previous roles

Demonstrate good understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of a learning disability service
