Job Summary: The Tax Senior, Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) drives value to the tax practice through the creation, change-management, deployment and support of processes and technologies needed to meet the demands of the market and our professionals. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of technology, process and data that is supported by their experience as a tax professional. The Tax Senior, DT&I coordinates with the tax practice and DT&I team to create and implement technology tools to meet the needs of our clients and professionals. Job Duties:
• Participates in change management initiatives, ensures smooth adoption of new and existing processes and technologies • Supports the deployment of firm-developed and third-party Tax technology tools • Creates comprehensive training materials and delivers engaging training sessions on firm-standard technologies • Collaborates with technology product and development teams to define product requirements for new Tax tools and solutions • Evaluates tax processes to achieve maximum efficiency and accuracy while identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions that streamline operations • Provides ongoing support to the tax practice, acting as a point of contract for technology-related queries and challenges • Assists in the planning and execution of change management and product deployment plans, as needed • Participates in tracking project progress and performance indicators, providing relevant observations to the team for improvement discussions • Supports project communication efforts by organizing information and updates to keep team members informed; drafts communications, as necessary • Contributes to the creation and/or delivery of training for products/processes/projects, as needed • Provides user support on technology products and processes, as needed • Assists with the implementation of internally developed and third-party firm-standard tax technology on engagements, as needed • Documents product business requirements, as prescribed by the tax practice and communicate those requirements to developers, as needed • Performs testing on products and processes, as needed • Provides comprehensive feedback to team members, addressing both areas of strength and opportunities for improvement to foster professional growth • Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Acts as a direct supervisor to team members, as assigned • Acts as a mentor, as assigned Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Information Systems, preferred • Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or J.D., preferred Experience:
• A combined three (3) years or more of tax and technology experience, of which a minimum of two (2) years is tax experience, required License/Certifications:
• Working towards relevant business, accounting, project management or technology certification, preferred (CPA, EA, PMP, etc.) Software:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word, required • Experience with Tax software, such as ONESOURCE, GoSystem, CorpTax, SurePrep, and/or CCH Axcess, preferred • Experience with Azure DevOps, preferred Language:
• N/A Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Self-starter with the ability to work effectively both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong analytical, and critical thinking, required Proactive mindset and ability to think ahead to identify and anticipate problems before they arise • Foundational knowledge of US direct and/or indirect taxation • Ability to work within a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously • Foundational knowledge of process design and improvement, including lean-six sigma principles Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $75,000 - $110,000 Maryland Range: $75,000 - $110,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $75,000 - $110,000
