About Us ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal Global that was established in 2005, through a Mineral Development Agreement with the Government of Liberia, granting the company right to begin mining operations. AML operations consist of Mining, rail, and shipment of Iron Ore. Currently, Iron ore is mined from Mount Gangra in Yekepa (Nimba County) and transported through our 243km rail facilities that runs through Bong County to the Port of Buchanan (Grand Bassa County) for onward shipment. AML is a member of ArcelorMittal Global, a leader in all major steel markets such as construction, domestic appliances, packaging and automotive, with industrial presence in more than 22 countries.
