Main duties of the job As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment so residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties efficiently. Your role includes creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, as this is part of our commitment to providing top-notch care and support. Expect variety in your role; tasks will range from fixing a leaky tap to gardening. Comfort with working alone, leading a team, and assisting the General Manager with budget planning is a must. Liaising with contractors for tasks beyond your team's expertise is also required. Your main priority will be resident wellbeing, ensuring all work is done sensitively to meet their needs. With hands-on property maintenance experience, you'll possess at least one trade skill and ideally a wide range of maintenance task abilities. Reliability and flexibility in working hours are necessary. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent are required.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Hands-on experience in property maintenance with at least one trade skill, full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
