Job SummaryYou will serve as a Supervisory Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Surface System Safety Branch (E41), Systems Safety Division (E4) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. This position may be eligible for Supervisory Pay Differential of up to four (4) percent.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading technical personnel in the development and execution of system safety programs and system safety analyses, which must include the integration of energetic and weapon systems. Major DutiesYou will manage staff supporting system safety policies and practices.You will organize, plan, assign and direct new and on-going work to ensure program objectives are met.You will set objectives for and evaluate subordinates' work, and resolve personnel issues.You will approve leave, recommend discipline, and recommend awards and promotions.You will establish training plans for subordinates and provide technical and career guidance.You will establish goals and priorities.You will determine methods to analyze and monitor costs, forecast budgets to ensure sound fiscal management, and assist higher level supervisor's in planning future requirements such as equipment, facilities and manpower.You will prepare written plans and reports and make presentations to interested parties on program/project status, problems, milestones, scheduling, and cost.You will review system safety documents and reports for technical rigor and correctness prior to submission to customer.You will serve as the branch manager of the E41 Surface System Safety Branch, and provide technical/programmatic leadership to a team of personnel involved with supporting and sustaining weapon/energetic systems, vehicles and ship platforms programs.You will work with DON and DoW customers to identify hazards, mitigate risks, achieve risk acceptance within constraints of operational suitability, schedule, cost throughout the system's entire Environment, Safety, Occupational Health lifecycle.
