Provide planning, direction, organization, and exercise control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned to the 35th Security Forces Squadron.

QualificationsIn order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administration and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices including force protection, integrated defense, intrusion-detection systems, physical security, OPSEC, technology, and special program efforts to plan and implement security procedures for security programs within the organization and installation. Knowledge of DoD, AF, MAJCOM, and wing missions, functions, and structures for security forces peacetime and contingency based missions and functions. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices including force protection, integrated defense, intrusion-detection systems, physical security, OPSEC, technology, and special program efforts to plan and implement security procedures for security programs within the organization and installation. 2. Knowledge of DoD, AF, MAJCOM, and wing missions, functions, and structures for security forces peacetime and contingency based missions and functions. 3. Knowledge of security forces programs and governing policies, directives, instructions and procedures, safety and security regulation, and practices. 4. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to conduct surveys/studies, accomplish projects, and evaluate results for the management and completion of programs. 5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization. 6. Ability to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks and be familiar with administrative requirements of the wing and MAJCOM. Other significant facts continued: 1. This position is Emergency Essential (E-E). The incumbent must meet all requirements of E-E positions and may be required, as a condition of employment, to take a series of vaccinations and annual boosters to immunize against anthrax and other diseases. During a crisis, the incumbent or designated alternate must continue to perform the E-E duties until relieved by proper authority. The same will be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of an E-E position and requires that the incumbent or designated alternate to be removed from any military recall status. 2. Department of Defense Security Physical Certification conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification requirement only applies to employees hired onto this position on or after 14 March 2016. Incumbent employees assigned on or before 14 March 2016 are not required to obtain the DoD certification(s) listed above. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Major DutiesDUTIES: Duty 1: Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of Plans and Programs Flight, 35th Security Forces Squadron. Duty 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Duty 3: Represents 35th Security Forces Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Duty 4: Provides advice and assistance to supervisors, managers, commanders, and other personnel on the installation. Duty 5: Represents the Defense Force Commander at meetings, conferences, workshops, panels, etc.
