Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must possess skills, and ability needed to work independently on firewalls and software on wired/wireless networks. Needs ability to troubleshoot and repair Paradyne ADSL/DSLAM modems. IAW DOD-8500.2/5200.2-R must possess or be able to obtain a Secret/SSBI clearance. Must have valid vehicle license to drive maintenance vehicles. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift objects between 40 and 50 pounds frequently and climb stairs and ladders multiple times daily. This is a drug test designated position, incumbent is subject to random drug testing. Candidate must possess certification of Security+ and is expected to complete requirements for renewal every 3 years. Additional Network+, A+ certifications are desirable for this position. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Major DutiesFunctional System Administrator monitors, tests, analyzes, maintains, and operates multiple operating systems squadron network platforms. Analyzes LAN/WAN utilization statistics through data collection and performance measures to ensure smooth, reliable, and robust operation to LAN/WAN. Performs LAN installation, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting; and reviews, evaluates, and fine-tunes components such as hubs, switches, and routers to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots network and application server hardware, network operating system software, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators. Changes the components of existing equipment for efficient operation or recommends major modifications to existing systems. Implements network operating system and or network application software and maintains contact with software suppliers to ensure that current releases of software products are in use. Ensures current network software products are compatible with system configurations and ensures interoperability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards. Oversees and troubleshoots operation of the LAN/WAN and ensures hardware and network operating software are functioning properly and operation standards are met. Function tests system components to identify and resolve technical problems, analyzes system malfunctions, implements necessary corrective actions, and provides ongoing support for the resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions. Ensures the vigorous application of information security/information assurance policies in the delivery of network services. Functional System Administrator for Windows Servers, Anti-virus, Intrusion Detection Systems, PCI vulnerability scanning, Point-of-Sale systems, credit card terminals, SETS, MABB, Defense Lodging System (or successor systems). The primary Network is NAFT/EISP but maintains wired and wireless networks at installation NAF activities. Performs server security patching and updating the network firmware and Hardware. Scans network using Fortra VM system (or successor system) and takes corrective action to remediate vulnerabilities found to maintain PCI compliance. May be required to work after hours, weekends and holidays. Position works under the supervision of the Resource Management Flight Chief.
