QualificationsTo qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: -Providing server hardware and software support to include troubleshooting/problem resolution, ensuring all UNIX operating systems software, libraries and files are backed up and properly maintained. -Participating in feasibility/performance studies of implementing near and long-term UNIX computing strategies based on technical architecture. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Major DutiesProvides technical support services such as planning, evaluation, testing, installation and support for DLA Enterprise UNIX and cloud environments, including hardware, software, and networking.Isolates, identifies, analyzes, evaluates, and resolves complex hardware, software, and/or communications problems.Coordinates software release and export procedures with management, customers, information systems (IS) and communications personnel to ensure that communications options and software are network compatible prior to export to the customer.Services as a technical mentor, provide guidance and informal cross training to less experienced technicians.Serves as a liaison between the local agency, DLA, Primary Level Field Activities (PFLA’s) and, where necessary, with vendors and contractors to determine feasibility and effectiveness.......of UNIX hardware/software/communications requirements for inclusion in DLA, Army, Air Force, Navy, and Joint Service Contracts.
