QualificationsYou must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-14, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Leading projects or teams that are directly responsible for preserving affordable multifamily housing; AND - Working with officials at the federal level (e.g. HUD, USDA, etc.), state or local level (e.g. Housing Finance Agencies) or industry groups that are active in affordable multifamily housing preservation programs to secure preservation transactions in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

The Office of Housing provides vital public services through its nationally administered programs. It oversees the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the largest mortgage insurer in the world, and regulates important parts of the housing industry. The Office of Housing is committed to building and preserving healthy neighborhoods and communities through homeownership, rental housing and healthcare opportunities. The Office of Multifamily Housing is responsible for the overall management, development, direction and administration of HUD's Multifamily Housing Programs. HUD's Multifamily programs provide mortgage insurance to HUD-approved lenders to facilitate the construction, substantial rehabilitation, purchase and refinancing of multifamily housing projects. MFH is widely responsible for production, asset management and portfolio oversight, and recapitalization of assisted properties, and field operations. As part of the National Housing Act of 1934, Congress created the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) which later became a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Housing in 1965. As a Supervisory Closing Coordinator, you will: Serve as authority and advisor in the planning, direction and execution of policies, statutes, and regulations that are involved in closing of real estate transactions to preserve affordable housing and reviewing and monitoring of post-closing transactions under the purview of the Office of Recapitalization. Educate the Office of Recapitalization, HUD, and other Federal staff, as well as external stakeholders including property owners, tenants, lenders, industry groups, and others, about policy, procedure, and results of recapitalization programs or activities as assigned to or undertaken by the Office of Recapitalization.RequirementsThe official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria VA. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal. Key Requirements: Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. A probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
