To qualify for the position of Administrative Technician OA, at GS-0303-5, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. Minimum Qualification Requirement: To be minimally qualified for this position you MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors in a five-minute writing sample. AND Specialized Experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes performing technical administrative tasks in the areas of correspondence management; office automation, data collection, and tracking information; calendar and meeting management; serves as Point of Contact for an organizational unit; and performs specialized office tasks in support of a unit. OR Education: Four years above high school. Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major DutiesComputes, audits, and certifies employee payroll records.Research payroll records and making corrections to keying errors.Prepares travel orders, coordinates with travel agents, and collects receipts. Reviews and audits vouchers.Performs various personnel activities such as, initiating personnel actions and requesting and returning certificates from Office of Personnel Management (OPM).Conducts personnel reference and record checks.
