Job SummarySupport the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Recreation, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bangor.
QualificationsUnderstanding of basic food handling techniques. Ability to follow oral instructions and perform routine manual tasks involving few steps. Must use judgment in sequencing tasks and be able to concentrate on uniform individual portions and to avoid distraction when serving several people at a time. Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards and simple food handling techniques. Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling techniques. Must have working knowledge and cleaning maintenance of the coffee machines. Exercise tact, good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting both customers and employees.
Major DutiesPerforms tasks involved in preparing and serving customers with snacks and beverages including coffee and made to order espresso beverages. Orders food items to be sold (ie. Muffins, biscotti, snacks, etc.) and ensures retail stock is replenished as needed. Arranges items in an appealing marketing display for sale. Operates cash register and prepares necessary documentation for cash funds accountability. May assist in taking inventory. Performs housekeeping tasks and is accountable for maintaining a safe, clean workplace. Performs other related duties as assigned.
