Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is located at the 75th Medical Group, Hill Air Force Base in Utah. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to federal service. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes fabricating or repairing complex Fixed Dental Prostheses such as crowns, inlays/onlays, implants, bridges, and/or semi-precision appliances; and designing or casting fixed or removable dentures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Major DutiesProvide oral health services to include detailed technical operations in the fabrication, design, testing, repair, and constructing of complex dental prostheses for patients with severe dentofacial abnormalities.Construct porcelain and/or acrylic bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, and crowns to resolve problems of retention, balance, and tension on natural teeth and tissue.Advise dentist and dental specialists on difficult design and construction problems such as fabricating complex dental or intra-oral maxillofacial appliances, bite openers, swing-lock, precision attachments, and obturator prostheses.Fabricate removable, partial, and complete dentures for intricate fixed dental prostheses, ensuring normal chewing, speech, and esthetic functions.Create stone models, wax patterns, and casts in precious metals, fusing porcelain to metals when necessary.Plan classroom and laboratory instruction for dental laboratory technicians to enhance their skills.
