Where and how you can work

While we support flexible ways of working, for this role it would be great to have someone who can join in a hybrid capacity in our Amsterdam office, so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing. We have an amazing new hub at the Herengracht for our growing team.

Please note: This role is a 12-month fixed term employee contract with potential to extend or convert to a permanent opportunity.

About the team

As SEO Outreach & Partnership Specialist for Benelux, you'll be part of both the Organic Growth speciality and International Supergroup, working in a dual alignment model, embedded in your Country team locally while contributing to the global outreach team.

The International Supergroup is becoming Canva's biggest growth driver in 2026 and beyond. To reach our foundational goal of having 1 in 5 internet users use Canva every month, we're shifting from translating English successes to implementing truly local strategies that resonate with and convert local audiences.

About the role

Link building is evolving fast - LLMs are changing how authority signals work, and what earned placements yesterday might not work tomorrow. This role requires someone who can balance proven tactics with experimentation, adapt quickly, and think beyond just securing backlinks.

You'll build high-quality backlinks for priority landing pages in The Netherlands and eventually Belgium while exploring brand mention opportunities. You'll report to both your Netherlands SEO Lead and the Global Outreach Lead, executing local strategy while contributing to global coordination.

You're not just executing a list handed to you. You're expected to be proactive, spotting opportunities, proposing optimizations, contributing to strategy discussions, and solving problems resourcefully. You'll operate with significant autonomy while staying aligned to your SEO Country Lead's priorities.

Success means delivering measurable authority growth that improves Canva's rankings and search visibility, helping more local users discover Canva and contributing to the country's market penetration goal.

What you’ll be doing

Campaign Planning and Execution:

Collaborate with your Country SEO Lead and Global Outreach Lead to identify priority landing pages and set backlink targetsResearch and build prospect lists using Canva's proven frameworks: guest posting, resource page insertions, broken link building.Analyse competitor backlink profiles to uncover replicable opportunitiesPrioritise prospects based on relevance, authority, and likelihood of successOutreach and Partnership Building:

Write personalised, culturally fluent outreach emails that resonate with NL publishers and editorsManage end-to-end outreach workflowsBuild authentic, long-term relationships with website owners, journalists, content creators and even build partnerships with podcasts, webinars etc to built partnershipsMaintain detailed records of all outreach activity, responses, and outcomes in shared tracking systemsQuality Assurance and Reporting:

Ensure all backlinks meet Canva's strict white-hat quality standards (relevant, editorial, on-topic placements)Monitor link placements for compliance, indexation, and longevityReport monthly on progress toward goals, flagging risks or blockers proactivelyContribute insights to monthly performance reviews with Country SEO Lead and Global Outreach LeadOutreach Strategy & Performance

Identify and engage relevant platforms and websites to increase brand visibility and secure high-quality backlinksTailor outreach approaches and collaborate with internal teams to create compelling partnership and content opportunitiesMonitor campaign performance, evaluate impact, and continuously refine strategies to improve outcomesSEO & Country Team Collaboration

Are a native Dutch speaker with business-level EnglishHave 1-2 years experience in link building, digital PR, content marketing, or related outreach-focused rolesHave experience creating content like blog posts, infographics or design assetsHave understanding of how search engines work and what makes a high-quality backlink - ideally familiarity with Dutch-specific search engines or social platforms (e.g. Yandex, Baidu, Naver, Line, local forums)Have an understanding of Dutch digital publishing landscape, content creator ecosystem, and outreach normsHave experience with SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog) and CRMs (e.g Pitchbox, BuzzStream) or a willingness to learnAre comfortable using AI tools for drafting, research, and analysis and basic understanding of how LLMs work is really valuableHave the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, with the knack for tailoring your messaging to different audiences (like journalists, bloggers, YouTubers, community moderators)Have a data-informed and detail-oriented approach, staying organised while managing multiple activities, contacts and tracking performanceAre proactive and take ownership — you propose optimizations, spot opportunities and solve problemsEnjoy experimenting and continuously improving, whether that’s testing creative approaches, exploring new tools, or leveraging AI to scale your impactHave the ability to connect individual work to broader SEO goals and would be excited to contribute ideas to a developing SEO strategyAre an active participant in SEO, marketing, or content creator communitiesYou're Other stuff to know
