About this role
Engage in the delivery of high‑impact aerospace and defence programmes with ALTEN Ltd. Join our team as a Senior Technical Author, producing clear, accurate technical publications and reports within a highly regulated, safety‑critical engineering environment. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, translating complex technical content into structured, compliant documentation that supports programme delivery across the full product lifecycle for a major UK aerospace OEM.

Authoring and maintaining technical publications and formal reportsProducing documentation to support aerospace and defence programmesUsing Teamcenter Unified to manage, control and publish documentationWorking closely with engineering teams to gather, structure and validate technical informationEnsuring documentation meets internal standards, customer requirements and regulatory expectationsSupporting configuration control and document lifecycle management Required Skills
Proven experience as a Senior Technical AuthorBackground in aerospace or defence environmentsStrong experience producing technical publications and reportsHands‑on experience with Teamcenter UnifiedAbility to understand complex engineering data and translate it into clear documentationSoft Skills & Collaboration
Excellent written communication and attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively with engineers and stakeholdersWell‑organised with the ability to manage multiple documentation tasksProactive and quality‑focused approachQualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.Desirable Skills
