About this role
ALTEN UK is supporting major programmes within the defence and infrastructure sectors and is looking for a Structural Analysis Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team working on complex building and structural design projects.
This role will involve contributing to the detailed design and assessment of safety-critical structures, supporting highly regulated engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the detailed structural design of buildings within a multidisciplinary engineering teamPrepare engineering calculation notes and technical substantiation documentsAnalyse and review technical documentation, drawings and engineering specificationsDevelop and assess finite element models using ANSYS APDLPerform soil–structure interaction assessments and seismic calculationsCarry out reinforced concrete checks in accordance with relevant standards and codesSupport structural integrity and safety assessments for complex infrastructure projectsCollaborate with civil, structural and geotechnical engineering teams Required Skills:
Experience within structural, civil or mechanical analysis engineeringFamiliarity with finite element analysis (FEA/FEM)Experience using ANSYS APDL or similar analysis toolsUnderstanding of reinforced concrete structuresKnowledge of seismic analysis and/or soil–structure interactionAbility to produce engineering calculations and technical reportsExperience working within highly regulated industries such as defence, nuclear, aerospace or infrastructure is advantageousRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of Eurocodes and British StandardsExperience within safety-critical engineering environmentsUnderstanding of structural dynamicsExposure to coding/scripting for engineering analysis (Python, MATLAB or APDL scripting beneficial)Previous experience supporting defence or nuclear programmes Why join us?
