About this role
ALTEN UK is supporting major programmes within the defence and infrastructure sectors and is looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team working on complex building and structural design projects in the Nuclear sector.
This role will involve contributing to the detailed design and assessment of safety-critical structures, supporting highly regulated engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the detailed structural design of buildings within a multidisciplinary engineering teamPrepare engineering calculation notes and technical substantiation documentsAnalyse and review technical documentation, drawings and engineering specificationsCarry out reinforced concrete checks in accordance with relevant standards and codesDesign using Eurocode and British StandardsSupport structural integrity and safety assessments for complex infrastructure projectsCollaborate with civil, structural and geotechnical engineering teams Required Skills:
Experience within structural, civil or mechanical analysis engineeringStructural Design UK experienceUnderstanding of reinforced concrete structuresUse of eurocode designing industrial structures such as Bridges, mines, hospitals, water plants or nuclear plants.Experience working within highly regulated industries such as defence, nuclear, aerospace or infrastructure is advantageousRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of Eurocodes and British StandardsExperience within safety-critical engineering environmentsUnderstanding of structural dynamicsPrevious experience supporting defence or nuclear programmes Why join us?
