About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Operations Manager to lead our laboratory operations. Reporting directly to the President, this role is responsible for overseeing all operational activities, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and accreditation standards, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a strong operational mindset, capable of optimizing performance, managing budgets, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee all laboratory operations, including purchasing and facility managementPlan, organize, and monitor activities to ensure optimal performance and efficiencyEnsure compliance with all safety, quality, and accreditation requirementsStrategy & Performance
Develop and execute operational plans aligned with corporate strategyEstablish measurable objectives to drive sustained performance and operational flexibilityMonitor performance indicators and implement improvement initiativesFinancial Management
Develop, manage, and control departmental operating budgetsIdentify opportunities to improve productivity and profitabilityContinuous Improvement & Innovation
Lead LEAN initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvementImplement process enhancements to increase efficiency and qualitySupport organizational change initiatives across departmentsSystems & Technology
Champion the effective use and ongoing development of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)Ensure systems are leveraged to improve workflows, reporting, and performanceTeam Leadership & Culture
Develop, coach, and mentor first-line managers and supervisorsFoster a culture of transparency, respect, and teamworkLead by example in alignment with the Eurofins Leadership CharterQuality, Compliance & Reporting
Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practicesParticipate in the development of annual service and growth plansPrepare and present operational performance reports to senior leadershipSupport documentation standardization and process compliance initiativesClient & Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction (internal and external)Collaborate with senior leadership to implement corporate policies and procedures Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a laboratory or regulated environmentStrong leadership and team development skillsExperience managing budgets and driving financial performanceKnowledge of quality systems, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirementsFamiliarity with LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement practicesExperience with LIMS or similar systems is an assetExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skillsWhy Join Us?
