About this role

We are presently recruiting for the role of Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara, reporting to Lisa Culley, District Sales Manager in Ontario for Vision Care. The candidate will be responsible for managing and leading business development in some of our largest customer key accounts in Southwestern Ontario and Niagara. The product portfolio includes dry eye prescription and OTC products.

The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara is intended to be the face of AbbVie to identified Key Accounts to continue to build on and develop the long-term customer relationships across the vision care portfolio.

Position Overview and Role Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships with existing customers and expanding awareness and use of focused AbbVie Vision Care products in the Dry Eye portfolio.The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara is responsible for managing sales at the customer and hospital level in accordance with approved marketing plans and company policies, to attain or exceed the sales targets for the assigned territory.Essential skills and abilities include: a high degree of flexibility in adapting to change, interpersonal and client relationship skills and a positive solution-oriented thinking capability.The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara is the customer expert and manager of the AbbVie commercial relationships with the External Experts.The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara has and maintains a macro view of customer relationships and works cross-functionally within AbbVie to maximize sales results.The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara works closely with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure internal team members understand and effectively execute against the customer strategy and sales expectations.The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara acts in the best interests of AbbVie looking for areas of mutual interest to AbbVie and the Key Accounts. The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara identifies predictive and responsive opportunities to co-develop solutions within the Key Accounts The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara proactively identifies challenges to effective customer interactions and ensures that the right internal processes are in place to overcome or mitigate them. The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara is the core customer advocate within AbbVie (e.g. identifies customer’s issues, concerns and priorities)The Therapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara builds deep and broad engagements within the Key Account’s organization and develops an understanding of their key priorities, structure and business environment to maximize salesTherapeutic Specialist – Vision Care for Southwestern Ontario and Niagara Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing trusting relationships with Key accounts and growing those relationships to ensure maximum share of dry eye portfolioDeveloping account specific strategies in accordance with AbbVie’s guidelines and valuesCollaborating with the AbbVie’s Medical team and to optimize product knowledge and business training acumenDevelop comprehensive and strategic business plans in order to increase market share in the glaucoma and dry eye product portfolioConduct regular sales reviews of business territory performance externally and internallyExecute national marketing programs collaborating with internal cross-functional teamsIdentify new collaboration & growth opportunities within existing Key Accounts, as well as identify new Key AccountsProficiently manage overall budget & resource allocation for the territory Education, Experience & Competencies Requirements:

B.A. or B.S. degree or MBA combination of experience and education requiredA minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or marketing/or head office operational experienceKey Account Management experience valuedExperience in Medical Sales is requiredA thorough understanding of the institutional/ Key Account healthcare sector preferredDemonstrated track record of achieving and/or exceeding business resultsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsStrong business acumen and self-starterDemonstrated leadership capabilities, listening and adaptability skillsStrong presentation and communication skillsProven ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally within the companyAbility to effectively communicate with senior leaders both with customers & internallyCandidate must be fluent in English. Both verbal and writtenHighly collaborative with a customer-centric mindsetAble to travel up to 50% of the time
