About the role

The Technical Project Manager (D365FO) plays a key role in bridging business needs, solution design, and delivery execution within the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations landscape.

This role combines project coordination, business analysis, and technical understanding to ensure that solutions are well-defined, aligned across teams, and delivered in a structured and scalable way.

The position works closely with business stakeholders, architecture, and development teams to translate requirements into implementable solutions and support successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project & Delivery Coordination

Coordinate delivery of D365FO-related initiatives across business, development, and architecture teams

Support planning, prioritization, and tracking of tasks and deliverables

Ensure alignment between stakeholders and maintain clarity on scope and progress

Identify risks, dependencies, and support resolution in collaboration with relevant teams

2. Business Analysis & Solution Structuring

Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into clear functional and technical specifications

Challenge and refine requirements to ensure optimal and scalable solutions

Ensure completeness of requirements, including edge cases and integration impacts

Support documentation of solutions, processes, and decisions

3. Technical Understanding & System Alignment

Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and ensure proper implementation

Understand D365FO capabilities, integrations, and data flows to support solution design

Validate proposed solutions against system architecture and best practices

Ensure changes consider cross-system dependencies (e.g., integrations, reporting, security)

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a key point of contact between business stakeholders and IT teams

Facilitate workshops and discussions to align on requirements and solutions

Ensure transparent communication and alignment across teams

Promote structured ways of working and shared ownership of solutions

5. Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement

Ensure solutions are properly documented and transferable to other team members

Support knowledge sharing across teams to reduce single-point dependencies

Contribute to improving delivery processes, governance, and standards

About you

To succeed in this role, you bring:

Key Qualifications

Solid experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or AX 2012)

Strong understanding of business processes and ERP systems

Experience in business analysis, solution design, or IT project coordination

Ability to work across technical and business domains

Experience collaborating with development teams and external vendors

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with D365FO integrations, reporting (e.g., Power BI), or document solutions (e.g., Docentric / LaserNet)

Exposure to IT governance, security, or infrastructure environments

Experience working in complex, multi-team environments
