Grade 3, Point 5 29.58 hours per week (8.45am -3.15pm), 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET)

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated Inclusion Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence and thrive within a mainstream secondary setting.

About the roleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and fellow support staff to provide tailored support for individual students and small groups, both in lessons and around the wider school environment. You will play a vital role in promoting independence, reinforcing learning and supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development.

The role includes:

Supporting students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities in mainstream lessonsHelping students stay focused, motivated and engaged with their learningAdapting resources and explanations to meet individual needsSupporting students with physical, medical or personal care needs where requiredAssisting teachers with classroom activities, assessments and record keepingContributing to a caring, inclusive and respectful school communityEvery day is different, but each day offers the chance to make a real and lasting impact on young people’s lives.

About youWe are looking for someone who:

Has a genuine interest in working with children and young peopleIs calm, caring, patient and positive, with a good sense of humourCan build strong, trusting relationships with students and colleaguesIs adaptable, creative and able to work both independently and as part of a teamHolds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathematicsHas experience of working with children (this may include parenting or caring roles)Experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly in a secondary school setting, is desirable but not essential. What matters most is your commitment to inclusion, your willingness to learn and your passion for supporting young people.
