Main duties of the job As a Housekeeper at Wellesley Hospital, you will be an integral part of the housekeeping team, responsible for creating a clean and safe environment for individuals with mental health needs. Your duties will include cleaning all areas of the service, such as wards, office spaces, bedrooms, and visitor areas. You will collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure high-standard cleaning services are delivered. Additionally, you will play a role in maintaining a positive culture and establishing good working relationships with staff, visitors, and service users. Training will be provided to help you start and there are various courses available for further career development. Your role will also include maintaining required security standards, welcoming visitors professionally, attending mandatory training, and performing any other appropriate tasks.

As a Housekeeper you will be:
Maintaining required security standards of the hospital by following relevant policies and procedures as defined by the Hospital. An active member of the team with a range of responsibility over the day-to-day operation. Maintaining excellent telephone etiquette and ability to meet and greeting visitors in a professional manner. Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all staff, visitors and service users. Helping create a positive culture. Undertaking any other tasks requested that are appropriate for the post. Attending mandatory and statutory training on an annual basis as required by Elysium Healthcare. To be successful in this role, you will:
Have previous experience of cleaning within a similar environment Enjoy cleaning and get satisfaction from a job well done Prioritise duties and responsibilities effectively Be a good communicator Have good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently. You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs.
There are 6 wards for people with mental health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
The Wellesley Hospital built in 2017 works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to deliver the best possible environment for patients with mental health issues.

Qualifications Essential
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in cleaning within a similar environment, a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and good communication skills. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset are also essential.
