About the Role
This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious professional to launch a career in major gift fundraising. No legal background is required - we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and drive, supported by coaching and mentoring to develop fundraising expertise.
Working closely with the Faculty of Law, you will help secure philanthropic support through donations of £50,000–£80,000 from alumni, trusts, law firms, and barristers’ chambers. The role also offers hands-on experience supporting a major campaign to redevelop the St Cross Building, alongside fundraising for scholarships, academic posts, and access and diversity programmes.
About You
We are looking for someone with experience in fundraising, marketing, or relationship management, with the confidence to represent the University professionally and make fundraising asks. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to turn complex academic ideas into compelling donor materials, and a talent for building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will also bring genuine enthusiasm for fundraising, an interest in social or environmental justice, and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently with Microsoft Office and database systems.
