Alvie Health and Reframe Cancer are both part of Harley Street Concierge Ltd and work together to support as many people affected by cancer as we possibly can.
As a key member of the Cancer Support and Screening Team at Reframe Cancer, the Cancer Nurse Specialist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care alongside holistic emotional and practical support to individuals diagnosed with cancer, and those supporting them.
The post holder will utilise their specialist knowledge and clinical expertise to develop therapeutic relationships with patients, acting as a consistent point of contact throughout the cancer pathway. They will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in partnership with patients, supporting them to manage the physical and psychological impact of their diagnosis and treatment, and addressing any concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.

Main duties of the job
Deliver holistic, patient-centred cancer support remotely via telephone, video consultation, and digital messaging platforms
Proactively engage with patients at key stages of their pathway, including initial assessment, cancer care reviews, follow-up consultations, and end-of-support reviews, ensuring ongoing assessment of needs
Undertake comprehensive holistic needs assessments and develop personalised care plans in partnership with patients, promoting self-management and supporting the achievement of individual goals
Work collaboratively with wider multidisciplinary teams and treating clinicians to support coordinated care, ensuring timely communication contributing to the delivery of optimal patient outcomes ensuring effective, sensitive, and compassionate communication
Provide emotional support, evidence-based information, and practical guidance to help patients and carers understand and cope with their cancer diagnosis and treatment
Prepare patients for, and support following, consultations, investigations, and treatments, ensuring they have a clear understanding of procedures, expectations, and potential outcomes throughclarifying information, reinforcing care plans, and outlining next steps
Ensure all information shared with patients is accurate, up to date, and derived from trusted, evidence-based sources
Communicate appointment information, screening test results, and care plans appropriately, ensuring patient confidentiality is upheld and valid consent is obtained

We work on a hybrid basis and are usually in our Basingstoke office 2 days a week and work from home for the other 3 days. This is obviously dependent on priorities and role requirements.

Patient Support & Care

Identify, escalate, and report incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and clinical governance frameworks.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Qualified NMC Registered Nurse (minimum NHS Band 6 equivalent). Minimum 3 years post-registration experience, with at least 3 years supporting cancer patients. Certificate in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) administration.
Experience Essential
Demonstrated experience in cancer care, including supporting patients through treatment and managing side effects. Strong understanding of cancer pathways, NICE guidelines, and safeguarding policies. Skilled in delivering structured needs-based assessments and building rapid rapport with patients. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Proficient in IT systems and managing multiple electronic patient records. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and self-management skills. Flexible, adaptable, and resilient in emotionally challenging circumstances. Committed to delivering high-quality nursing care and continuous service improvement. Embody organisational values: compassionate, empowering, proactive.
Desirable
Experience in palliative care, psychological assessment, counselling, or specific cancer types. Experience in cancer screening programmes. Experience supporting carers or helping patients return to work.
