About this role

Job summary

A fantastic opportunity to join our wonderful team as a GP for between 4-6 clinical sessions per week, across Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We are an established high-QOF achieving practice at and provide a supportive environment for newly qualifying GP and provide Tier 2 visa support if necessary.

Main duties of the job

Core GP clinical duties of managing patients presenting with acute and chronic, long term conditions in General Practice.Medicines and Pathology/Imaging reports management.Addressing queries from non-medical colleagues.Support to take on lead roles within the practice as QOF or Safeguarding lead with guidance with GP Partners and Practice manager.GP Administration: Medical reports and Death certification (training will be provided as necessary)Engaging in practice / clinical meetings to shape how we deliver our GP services for our patients.Special interests encouraged.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care

Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based medical care to patients through face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations.Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic illnesses in accordance with current NICE guidance and local clinical protocols.Provide health promotion, screening, and preventative care to support improved patient outcomes.Manage patients with complex, multi-morbidity needs, utilising clinical judgement and appropriate referral pathways.Prescribe medications appropriately and cost-effectively, ensuring safe monitoring and review.Patient Management

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and legally compliant clinical records using electronic patient systems.Provide continuity of care where appropriate, supporting holistic management of patients physical, psychological, and social needs.Undertake home visits when clinically necessary.Work collaboratively with patients to develop shared management plans.Team Working and Collaboration

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including nurses, pharmacists, physician associates, and allied health professionals.Liaise with secondary care, community services, and external agencies to ensure coordinated patient care.Support and contribute to practice meetings, clinical discussions, and service development initiatives.Quality and Safety

Adhere to clinical governance frameworks and participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and significant event reviews.Maintain professional registration and comply with GMC standards and revalidation requirements.Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities for both adults and children in line with statutory guidance.Ensure compliance with infection control, prescribing safety, and risk management policies.Teaching and Development

Participate in the teaching and supervision of medical students, trainees, and other staff where appropriate.Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain clinical competence and advance skills.Reflect on practice and contribute to peer learning within the team.Administrative Duties

Process clinical correspondence including hospital letters, test results, and referrals in a timely manner.Complete medico-legal documentation such as reports, forms, and referrals as required.Contribute to practice targets, including QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) and enhanced services.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Fully qualified GP with inclusion on the GMC GP Register and on a Medical Performers List. Lisence to practise and evidence of ongoing professional development. Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Driver License and access to motor vehicle for home visiting. Indemnity cover for private letters and medical reports with a recognised UK based indeminity provider (e.g. MDU) - costs for employed activities at the surgery will be reimbursed by the employer.

Desirable

Experience in UK general practice. Ability to speak Punjabi, Hindi or Urdu. Interest in a clinical specialism or service development area. Experience with teaching, mentoring, or leadership roles.
