Job summary
We are looking for Clinical Educators to join the Oncology & Haematology department here at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
Education and supporting a team is key to a successful and competent team which would be led by the successful candidate. This post would also support with educational programmers' in enhancing care and education to support our patients journey.
Main duties of the job
Support and develop evidence-based nursing practice through education, training, and development in Oncology & Haematology nursing. Demonstrate expertise in all aspects in the provision of this care.
To facilitate and take part in the professional development and training of all nursing staff within the Oncology and Haematology Department and to promote clinical excellence in Oncology and Haematology Nursing, both within the Directorate and Trust-wide.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.

Job description Job responsibilities
In collaboration with other senior colleagues, to identify, support and promote nursing practice developments. Practice as a professional Nurse, with confidence, authority and expertise, acting as a role model for all staff in the pursuit of clinical excellence and ensuring the provision of a high-quality service. To take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Ward/Department Sister/ Charge Nurse. Ensure the practice of self and others is in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and work within limits of competence. Act as a resource for the support and guidance of staff in the clinical field, encourage further development of the skills and to ensure cohesion and effective team working. To ensure nurses are facilitated to develop the skills required to undertake nursing practice at the specific grade in which they are employed Explore creative approaches to professional development in order to meet individual learning needs. Provide supervision, teaching and support for individuals in the clinical area. Work with senior management team in r response to service need and appraisal process, identify and address staff development requirements. To pursue academic excellence in nursing, contributing to the development to the development of students, nurses and the curriculum. With nursing colleagues and multi-disciplinary team, nurture the development of an environment which supports and encourages personal and professional growth. In conjunction with Oncology & Haematology Senior Management Team assist in the planning and creation of training plans for the Directorate to develop an appropriately trained workforce. Co-ordinate the department orientation for all new staff. Initiate and facilitate learning opportunities within the clinical setting. To assist in the management of complaints in accordance with the Trusts Complaints procedure. Use leadership skills to create an environment that is safe and supportive to ensure effective teamwork and a motivated, efficient workforce. Conduct staff appraisal using constructive performance review and establish Personal Development Plans.

Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register To have completed the mentorship preparation programme or equivalent
Experience Essential
Significant post registration experience at Band 6 level, with experience in all aspects of Oncology/Haematology Nursing Experience in teaching and providing training
Skills Essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Competency in advanced clinical skills including enhanced practice Organisational and time management skills
