Main duties of the job As a Support Worker, you will join the Dorset Outreach team to provide 1:1 community-based support for a young adult living outside Dorchester. You'll help them engage in meaningful activities, stay active, and build confidence. They are social and enjoy outdoor activities like gardening, music festivals, and swimming. This role requires someone who supports them safely while fostering their independence. Work will be in Dorchester and nearby areas, with shifts from 9:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. Your presence should be upbeat and calm, helping create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Your responsibilities include accompanying them to activities, appointments, and volunteering roles. Driving is essential as you will need access to a car. The role involves full personal care, meal preparation, and adherence to detailed routines. Where youll be working: Dorchester and surrounding areas Shift patterns are 09:00-15:00, Monday Friday. This is a community-based support role with no personal care required. Youll be accompanying them to activities, clubs, appointments, and volunteering roles. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Calm, patient, and observant approach; ability to build trust. Experience with learning disabilities is a plus. A full driving license is desirable for day shifts.
