Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Trust (HPFT) is looking for a part time band 7 Occupational Therapist to cover maternity leave, to work within the Community Adult Mental Health Services. The post is based in Bishop's Stortford but would require travel to various locations in the north and East of Hertfordshire
part time hours, no shift working. Hybrid working available.
As an Occupational Therapist in HPFT you would:
Be part of an OT team, not a lone professional
Be part of MDTs that value and respect OT
Involvement in CPD and reflective practice.
All our OTs are supervised by experienced Specialist/Head/Lead Occupational Therapists
You would receive support and be part of an OT network across all the services. If you are new to the area or considering career progression - we can support you.

Main duties of the job
The Head OT would co-ordinate and oversee the community OT service for Adults across the South East and North central quadrants. They would carry a small caseload as well as having managerial responsibilities which would include, supervision, service development, recruitment and retention, training etc. Training opportunities would be available for the enthusiastic applicants who could fulfil this role. You would be part of a supportive team of Head and Lead OTs. Training will be offered with regards to developing leadership skills, Model of Human Occupation as well as a variety of in-service training opportunities.

To manage a small caseload of clients with complex OT needs.
To provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal-
To lead in the planning, development and evaluation of OT services, holding responsibility for defined projects where appropriate-
To regularly support staff to supervise OT students on practice placement, following attendance at an approved Fieldwork Educators course.-
To apply in depth knowledge of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and other standardised assessment approaches relevant to the clinical setting.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION TRAINING Essential
BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy HCPC registration Evidence of clinical post registration training Proficient use of Microsoft Office and associated packages. Practice Placement qualification/APPLE accreditation
Desirable
Membership of RCOT, including specialist section First line management training Solution Focussed Brief Therapy training AMPS/ESI/SI training
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Essential
Post registration experience in relevant clinical setting/s at a B6 level Applied experience of providing both individual and group work interventions. Highly Specialist knowledge and experience of using and applying the Model of Human Occupation assessment tools, or others appropriate to area. Experience of other specialist Occupational Therapy assessment tools, e.g. AMPS, SI Documented evidence of continuing professional development Experience in providing advice, support and clinical supervision to junior staff and/or students Applied knowledge of Recovery principles and how these relate to OT

Experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or learning disability in a variety of health and social care settings Involvement in recruiting staff Experience in research or audit Previous experience of having worked at Band 7 level
