Main duties of the job As a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare, your role will be to ensure that the building and grounds of Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester are well maintained. You will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building tasks both inside and outside the Home. You will support new residents to arrange their room as they wish and ensure routine re-decoration is undertaken to maintain standards in the home. Additionally, you will advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks and participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies. To be successful in your application, you should be caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable. You must have at least one year's experience in a general maintenance role or hold a professional qualification in a trade, have a full driving license, and possess knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.

Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home. Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish. Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome. Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods. Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

Our ideal candidatemust:

Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade. Hold a full driving licence. Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments. Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Qualifications Essential

To qualify for this position, candidates should have a minimum of one year's experience in a general maintenance role or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
