Paediatric Staff Nurse wanted for our Paediatric High Dependency Unit to work weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and nights to meet the needs of the service
We're looking for a keen enthusiastic nurse to join our busy or Paediatric High Dependency unit. The post would be suitable for someone with a minimum of 2 years post registration experience. We are currently one of only two stand alone PHDU's in the region.
Paediatric High Dependency is a 4 bedded unit which cares for children from 0-16years requiring level 2 critical care.
We offer a variety of experience and look after a range of specialties covering paediatric medicine and surgery and are well developed in our non-invasive ventilation support.
Main duties of the job
We work closely with the other Paediatric wards, the multidisciplinary team and with tertiary hospitals in the region to ensure children receive a high standard of care and effective treatment close to home.
A positive and progressive attitude is required along with excellent communication skills and the desire to work in a small friendly team.
Our philosophy is to work closely with families in a friendly environment with a commitment to the provision of high quality patient care.
We have a very close knit team in paediatric medicine. All 3 areas work well together under one ward manager. Many staff choose to work a few shifts a month in one of the areas outside of their base ward as they like the variety, and opportunity to learn and to utilise different skills. This has resulted in a cohesive and friendly team who recognise each other's pressures and support each other.
