Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6 or Band 5 progressing to Band 6) - Haringey Learning Disabilities Service

The Haringey Learning Disabilities Speech and Language Therapy Team is looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist, with an exciting opportunity to progress to Band 6 within the role.

Main duties of the job
In this rewarding post, you will:
Deliver communication and dysphagia interventions to adults with learning disabilities
Receive structured supervision and support to develop skills in managing a complex caseload
Work with individuals with diverse and complex communication and swallowing needs
Provide training and guidance to paid carers, family members, and staff in community, day, and supported living services
You'll be joining a supportive and experienced SLT team, including an SLT Assistant, and contributing to a range of multidisciplinary pathways across Haringey.

Education, qualifications, training Essential
MSC/Post Grad/BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent (including Dip. CST) Health and Care Professions Council Registration to Practice Registered Member of RCSLT NB for students just completing their training HCPC can be pending
Desirable
Training relevant to client group e.g. Makaton, positive behaviour support, Intensive Interaction, dysphagia Basic research methodology
Skills/abilities Essential

Previous Experience Essential
