Job summary
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated & compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join Beechwood Ward at Parklands Hospital. Beechwood Ward is an assessment and treatment ward dedicated to supporting older people with functional mental health conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
This role is open to both Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) and Registered General Nurses (RGN) who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care. We particularly welcome applicants with an interest in strengthening the integration of physical health assessment and diagnosis within a mental health inpatient setting.
You will play a vital role in a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to comprehensive care planning, risk assessment, and therapeutic interventions. The post offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in both mental and physical healthcare, ensuring that patients receive holistic support tailored to their individual needs.

Main duties of the job
Partake in clinical and management supervision and attend all developmental training sessions.
Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.
Adhere to those stipulations as defined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Charge Nurse.
Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.
Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.
Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.

Qualifications Essential
Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration (RMN or RGN) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Commitment to Lifelong Learning and completion of the rotational developmental programme of training.
