About this role

Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity for you to become a part of the Cancer Business Unit.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and flexible individual to join our Haematology secretary team. You will be a part of an Administration Team that provides support to the Haematology team, including consultants and registrars. In this role you will be providing a range of clerical and administrative support services to the medical secretary and waiting list team and in delivering an efficient and effective service for the clinicians in respect of their NHS work within the business unit as well as being an important point of contact for our patients.

Please be aware that there is no guarantee that you will be released from your substantive post, so you should seek approval before applying as you are applying for a Secondment.

Main duties of the job

The main duties for the role includes:

Dealing with telephone queries Typing clinical correspondence Prepping clinics Inputting patient information onto our different systems and supporting the Haematology Team with general administrative duties. Liaising daily with colleagues including the immediate secretary team, senior and junior Medical teams, management and other hospital departments.
