Job summary
St Johns Medical Centre is located in the market town of Altrincham within the borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester.
We are a busy, forward thinking and friendly practice, looking for a caring and enthusiastic GP who is committed to providing and developing a high quality service to join our happy team, working 6 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job
Provide a full range of medical services and additional enhanced services where appropriate.The post holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including F2F appointments, telephone consultations, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence.To record clear computer based consultation notes to agreed standards.Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early sign of illness.Provide counselling and health educationCollecting data for audit purposesCompiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptionsPrescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.In general the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About us
We are a partnership practice with 9 GP Partners and 5 Salaried GPs. The practice has a wide and varied clinical team including Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Nurse and Social Prescribers.
We are a teaching practice and research active.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and license to practice. Inclusion on the NHS performers list. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as park of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to high quality patient care.
Desirable
Experience working within UK General Practice. Experience using Emis Web, Docman, AccuRx & Abtrace. Interest in quality improvement or specialist clinical areas.
