The postholder will oversee and coordinate the Managed Equipment Service for the Cardiology Clinical Service . Working to the imaging Senior Leadership Team the postholder will engage with a diverse group of senior stakeholders across the Trust, ensuring timely delivery of major equipment replacement programmes.

The postholder will also be responsible for driving compliance, from ongoing maintenance and asset availability to helpdesk support and staff training whilst navigating contracts, monitoring performance, and resolving challenges with confidence. Main duties of the job

Collaborating with the Cardiac team, Estates, other Trust colleagues, Trust PFI Partners, MES provider(s), the manager will oversee the equipment replacement plan, ensuring it aligns with agreed timelines and contract terms. This role requires interpreting and resolving complex contract-related issues and effectively communicating with stakeholders to address queries. The post holder is expected to have experience in leading and supporting the procurement of Managed Services and will be the point of escalation between the MES provider (present/future) and the Cardiac team.

Implement project management tools to swiftly address any deviations from the Procurement programme and complete business cases to support the procurement award.

Lead and participate in working groups essential for the successful execution of plans and contractual provisions, including the MES Investment Committee, Facility Infrastructure User Group, Works Group and IS Quality Assurance meetings.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including senior clinical staff, for the selection, procurement, and commissioning of new equipment or service delivery models to ensure compliance with contractual specifications and operational readiness.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Master's or equivalent (Chartered) qualification in a business-related subject or in programme management, law, finance or engineering.

Desirable

Project Management Qualification Accreditation in contract management from the Government Commercial College or other recognised contract management certification

Knowledge Desirable

Knowledge of the principles of managed equipment service contracts Up to date knowledge of developments in Medical Equipment covering the clinical applications as well as the technical aspects of medical equipment.

Training and Experience Essential

Significant experience of managing all aspects of large, complex, multi-stakeholder implementation programmes within live operational environments Proven ability in contractor management and delivering outcomes against specific programmes and budgets Demonstrable achievement of negotiating successful outcomes with senior party representatives Significant experience and a proven ability of managing, communicating and influencing a broad range of individuals up to board level in to achieve project objectives Experience of involvement in contract dispute and in negotiating successful outcomes Experience of undertaking or reviewing contractual performance monitoring and reporting

Desirable

Experience of managing and delivering change programmes within the NHS. Operational experience of replacing medical imaging equipment

Skills and Abilities Essential

Ability to compile concise and accurate management reports for immediate and senior management Ability to present complex technical issues in a concise way which can be understood by non-specialist Competent in the use of IT software and the willingness to familiarise with other specialist software packages as required Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and professionals at all levels in the organisation and externally Ability to manage conflicting viewpoints and influence external and internal colleagues at all levels to deliver successful outcomes Ability to manage and embed change to deliver desired outcomes Contract and performance management skills including managing third party service providers Knowledge of NHS procedures including standing financial instructions
