Job summary
To optimise medicines management and medication processes within the surgery to achieve highly effective, safe, patient centred care, in line with the latest guidelines. The Pharmacy technician will be working alongside Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and prescription clerks.
Main duties of the job
To support the management and development of the prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective, and quality prescribing within the surgery.
To work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist for prescribing on individual prescribing projects or audits.
To develop strong working relationships with local community pharmacies to assist patients and provide a high-quality service.
To act as lead contact for any complex prescribing queries on behalf of the network.

Professional Responsibilities:
To work under supervision of a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist
Be responsible for remaining up to date with training course CPD
To participate in clinical supervision
Clinical Responsibilities:
Highlight any gaps in knowledge/training to the management team
Remain up to date with clinical guidelines to ensure practice remains evidence based
Work In line with organisational policies and procedural guidelines
Attend and participate in meetings when required
Clinical Governance:
Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded promptly in the patients notes on SystmOne.
Ensure the safety of patients, relatives and colleagues and to report all incidents and near misses in line with the risk management policy
Remain up to date with mandatory training
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSE Grade A to C in Maths and English NVQ Level 3 / BTECH in Pharmacy Services or equivalent nationally recognised qualification Accredited Checking Technician Qualification This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Evidence of experience in Primary Care and the Prescribing Processes in Primary Care Experience of working flexibly and effectively within a multidisciplinary team Experience of having to prioritise caseload/manage own time effectively Experience of managing change and conflict situations
