Experience in child development services is essential, and applicants with expertise in autism assessment - including ADOS training with competency sign-off - are essential. Main duties of the job
Expert neurodevelopmental assessments for children referred for conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). To be a specialist in this process with underlying knowledges and observational skill. Training registered practitioners in the process and setting competency framework and direction. To be final sign off practitioner for staff competency. Provide specialist sleep support interventions, including assessment, education, medication reviews and behavioural strategies for children with sleep difficulties. Provide specialist opinion on medication changes to the lead clinician. With clinical credibility and expertise. Support children with neurodisabilities, including those with Trisomy 21, through care planning at initial appointment, health surveillance, and coordination of services. Designated case load management and expert delegation to junior staff based on level of complexity. Maintain own caseload where required working with colleagues to ensure milestone reviews are met, following up on investigation results and acting accordingly. To be competent in transition support across health and significant life events (i.e planning for school or moving into adult services) Coordination of MDT events for best interests, transition etc. Deliver specialist-led clinics as appropriate. To deputise for seniors when required.
