We are seeking a highly motivated Locum GP to join our team on a regular weekly basis, providing maternity cover within a well-established and forward-thinking practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values collaborative working within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will operate as an autonomous practitioner, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our practice population while working within contractual frameworks. In addition to routine clinical responsibilities, there is an expectation to engage with practice workflow, supporting safe and efficient patient access through our total triage model.
You will be part of a cohesive and progressive team, contributing to the ongoing development and effective management of the practice. The role offers the opportunity to lead by example, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, and working in alignment with GMC Good Medical Practice standards.
This position also provides scope to support the wider clinical workforce through mentorship and supervision, making a meaningful contribution to workforce development and clinical excellence across the organisation.

Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality, patient-centred care across routine and urgent appointments; assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of conditions; prescribe safely; maintain accurate clinical records; and collaborate with the wider practice team. Adapt quickly to different systems and workflows while ensuring continuity, efficiency, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.

Ling House Medical Centre is a large GP practice based on the edge of Bronte country in Keighley, West Yorkshire. We have 2 sites, our main site is Ling House Medical Centre, and we have a smaller site, Mornington House which is adjacent to the main building.

Job description Job responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Locum GP to join our practice, providing high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced primary care environment.
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities: In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Assessing the health care needs of patients, making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care professional.
Visiting Patients in their own home when required
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for audit purposes
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically).
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Qualifications Essential
Full GMC registration Conforms to the National Performers List and is able to perform any such service as detailed within Regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013. Appropriate medical defence indemnity Evidence of current validation Evidence of last appraisal Eligibility to practice in the UK
Experience Essential
Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including recording of accurate clinical notes Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check Occupational Health clearance Flexibility to work outside of core Practice hours Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) commensurate with the role Access to own transport
Desirable
General understanding of the primary care contract An appreciation of the NHS landscape and relationship between individual Practices, PCNs and the commissioners Knowledge of health promotion strategies Experience of medicines management Knowledge of public health issues in the local area Understanding and knowledge of QOF and enhanced service
